Terms & Conditions

How accounts, bookings, memberships, tickets and orders work at Micky's Boxing Academy.

Last updated 23 October 2026

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Micky's Pro & Amateur Boxing Academy, Unit 8, Adams Court, Mountfield Industrial Estate, New Romney, Kent TN28 8DP. By creating an account, booking a class, buying a ticket or ordering from the shop you accept them. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.

They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your information. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Your account

  • Give us accurate details and keep them up to date, especially your phone number and any change in your health.
  • Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.
  • One account per person. Accounts are for the named member and can't be lent or transferred.
  • Members under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the consent form in the app before they can train.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is used to abuse staff or other members. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

3. Classes and bookings

  • Book in advance. Places are limited, so a booking holds your spot. If a class is full you can join the waitlist, and the app will move you into the class if a place frees up.
  • Cancel at least 12 hours before. Cancelling inside 12 hours, or not turning up, counts as a no-show and is recorded on your attendance record. Repeated no-shows may cost you priority booking on popular sessions.
  • We may change a session. If a coach is unavailable or the gym is unsafe to use we may cancel or move a class. We will tell you as early as we can, and you will not be charged for a session we cancel.
  • Arrive on time. Latecomers may be turned away from a session that has already started its warm-up, for their own safety.

4. Membership and payments

  • Membership plans and their prices are shown in the member app before you choose one.
  • Card payments are taken through Stripe. If you choose to pay at the desk instead, the plan still starts on the date recorded in the app and is payable on those terms.
  • You can cancel or resume your membership from the app. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund a period you have already used.
  • If a payment fails we will contact you. Access may be paused until the balance is cleared.
  • We may change plan prices, giving you at least 30 days' notice. You can cancel before the change takes effect if you don't accept it.

5. Health, safety and waivers

Boxing and strength training carry an inherent risk of injury. We ask you to take that seriously and to help us manage it:

  • No member trains before a signed liability waiver is on file. Under-18s also need parental consent.
  • Tell us about injuries, pregnancy, heart conditions, medication or anything else that could affect you. Declare it in your medical form and tell your coach in person before the session.
  • Follow your coach's instructions, especially on sparring. Sparring is optional, controlled and only at the level your coach approves.
  • Bring and wear the kit the session requires — hand wraps, gloves, gumshield and boots where asked.
  • Don't train under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and don't bring them onto the premises.

If a coach believes continuing would put you or someone else at risk, they may stop your session. That is a safety decision, not a refund event.

6. Conduct in the gym

Everyone here is entitled to train without being intimidated or harassed. Treat members, coaches and visitors with respect, keep the space clean, and follow the gym's rules on filming and photographs — don't film anyone who hasn't agreed to it. Bullying, discrimination, aggression towards staff or other members, and damaging equipment are all grounds for us to end your membership without refund.

7. Event tickets

  • Ticket prices and any booking fees are confirmed by the message or page you order from. Tickets are only valid for the event and date shown.
  • Tickets are non-refundable if you can no longer attend, but you may pass them to someone else — just let us know the name before the doors open.
  • If we cancel an event, you will be offered a full refund of the ticket price or a ticket to the rearranged date, your choice.
  • The card is subject to change. If a bout changes, that is not grounds for a refund while the event itself goes ahead.
  • We may refuse entry, or ask someone to leave, for drunkenness, aggression or anything that puts the crowd or fighters at risk. In that case no refund is due.
  • Under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and some events are 18+ — this is stated on the event page.

8. Shop orders

  • Merchandise orders are confirmed once we have replied to your order message and taken payment.
  • As a consumer buying at a distance you have 14 days from delivery to cancel for a refund. Items must come back unworn, unwashed and in their original condition, with tags attached.
  • Personalised or made-to-order items are excluded from that 14-day right, as the law allows.
  • Tell us within 30 days if something arrives faulty, damaged or wrong and we will replace it or refund you, including postage.

9. Website content and intellectual property

The Micky's name, crest, photographs, fight cards and written content on this site belong to us or our licensors. You are welcome to share links and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use, but please ask before using our material commercially or suggesting we endorse something.

Fight records, rankings and event details are compiled in good faith from official results and promoter information. Tell us if something is wrong and we will correct it.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide the website, member app and classes with reasonable care and skill, but we don't promise the site will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when these terms were agreed, or for business losses such as lost profit.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Your consumer rights are unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the gym and the app change. The version in force is the one published here, with the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the member app before they take effect, and continuing to use your account after that means you accept them.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales.

Anything unclear, or a complaint? Email info@mickysboxing.co.uk or speak to a coach at the gym — we would much rather sort it out directly. Our full contact details and address are on the contact page.
